Trekking on the Salar de Uyuni is definitely crossing an extreme environment. The light is so bright during the day that you won't even dare to open your eyes without your sunglasses. There is no water between April and December. The salt flat covers such a wide area that orientation becomes very hard.

With a little help from your friends the experience becomes feasible and enjoyable. You will be driven to a part of the salt flat where there are numerous Islands on which our staff will deposit food and water provision for the coming days. Unless you go for the more comfortable option, with a support vehicle coming along, waiting for you with a warm meal for lunch on the salt flat.

We organize this tour only accompanied by a guide who exactly knows which island has to be reached and where to find these deposits. Furthermore we will always bring a satellite phone along just in case.

We will provide the logistic transport of equipment, a guide, the tents, cooking material, food and water. You will bring along with you a good sleeping bag (comfort zone -10°C), a camping mattress, and clothes for cold nights and warm days.

This tour does not have fixed departures and is not that common. We recommend to be at least 4 participants, as it does not make sense, from an economical point of view, otherwise.
